COX 12A

Coherent sound. Active performance. Versatile applications.

The COX 12A is a compact, active 2-way coaxial loudspeaker for professional installations and mobile sound reinforcement applications. It combines a 12-inch coaxial driver with an integrated Class-D amplifiers and DSP-based signal processing. Its sound tuning is designed for natural, balanced reproduction with a well-controlled low-frequency response and can be adapted to different applications using the three presets WHOLE, SAT and WALL. The rotatable coaxial driver allows the 100° x 80° coverage pattern to be aligned as required. With analogue and digital AES3 inputs, signal and power linking, and versatile mounting options, the COX 12A is suitable for fixed installations, AV presentations, corporate events, theatres, concert halls, hotels, clubs, stage monitoring and front-fill applications.
APPLICATIONS: The COX Series is suitable for fixed installations in theatres, public venues and corporate events, concert halls and places of worship, as well as for live sound reinforcement in bars and clubs. It also covers applications such as compact stage monitoring and front fill. The series is therefore a reliable choice for demanding standalone and distributed sound reinforcement applications.

  • Integrated amplifiers and DSP provide a fully integrated system without the need for external amplification.
  • The low- and high-frequency sections share a common acoustic source, providing coherent reproduction and consistent coverage.
  • DSP-based equalisation supports natural reproduction with a well-controlled low-frequency response.
  • The rotatable coaxial driver provides a 100° x 80° coverage pattern for horizontal or vertical orientation.
  • Versatile M8 mounting points, a 36 mm pole-mount socket, and analogue and digital AES3 signal inputs with link output support a wide range of applications.

Feature 1
The low- and high-frequency sections share a common acoustic centre. This supports consistent reproduction and clear speech and music transmission across the entire coverage area.
Feature 2
DSP-based signal processing enables natural sound tuning with a well-controlled low-frequency response. The WHOLE, SAT and WALL presets make it easier to adapt the loudspeaker for use in open space, in combination with a subwoofer or for wall-mounted or near-wall installation.
Feature 3
Analogue and digital AES3 inputs, link outputs, powerCON linking and versatile mounting points simplify integration into different sound reinforcement systems. The rotatable coaxial driver supports horizontal or vertical orientation.

The COX 12A was developed for professional sound reinforcement systems that require balanced reproduction, ample power headroom and flexible installation options. As the active evolution of the COX 12 MKII, it combines a 12-inch coaxial driver with integrated amplification and DSP-based signal processing. The enclosure is more compact and shallower than the passive model and has been designed with optimised bass reflex tuning.
At the centre of the system is the coaxial driver, in which the low- and high-frequency sections share a common acoustic centre. This creates a coherent sound field with consistent reproduction across the coverage area. The rotatable driver allows flexible horizontal or vertical orientation, making it possible to align the 100° x 80° coverage pattern with the respective mounting position.
The integrated amplifiers provide the required power for the active system. The DSP adjusts the crossover and equalisation. The sound tuning is designed for natural, balanced reproduction with a well-controlled low-frequency response. Three presets make it easier to adapt the loudspeaker to typical applications. WHOLE is intended for use in open space, SAT for operation with a subwoofer, and WALL for wall-mounted or near-wall installation. For wall-mounted applications or use with a subwoofer, the low-frequency response is adjusted to maintain a consistent tonal balance.
DSP limiters support reliable operation at high levels. They protect the components from overload and reduce clearly audible or harsh distortion. Additional protection functions protect the system against short circuits, overheating and overcurrent.
Analogue and digital AES3 inputs are available for signal integration. The input signal can be passed on to additional loudspeakers via the link output. The power supply can also be looped through using the powerCON connectors. The eight-position level control supports the setup of multiple loudspeakers with different positions and level requirements. With its M8 mounting points, 36 mm pole-mount socket and optional mounting accessories, the COX 12A is suitable for a wide range of professional applications. These include fixed installations in theatres, concert halls, hotels and event spaces, as well as AV presentations, corporate events, bars, clubs, stage monitoring and front-fill applications.
