IC 38X

Extraordinarily powerful, unusually light, and right on point

To ensure that, even in difficult, acoustically complex spaces, sound can be directed at the audience as directly and losslessly as possible, the IC 38X features an extremely tight dispersion pattern: a wide 120° horizontally but a super‑narrow 30° vertically. This makes it ideal for acoustically demanding, expansive architecture such as halls, churches, larger conference rooms, and open, high‑ceilinged spaces. Even over long distances, the audience remains in the direct sound field thanks to the very narrow vertical dispersion, while ceiling reflections are optimally reduced and energy loss over distance is minimised. The result is comfortable, effortless speech intelligibility.

  • 120° horizontal, 30° vertical — focus energy on the audience, reduce reflections
  • Lightweight die‑cast aluminium (7.2 kg) — easy truss/ceiling/wall mounting
  • Eight 3.5" neodymium drivers (incl. 2 coax HF) — long reach and excellent intelligibility
  • Phoenix MSTB 4‑pole in/link and two‑way switch — fast, cost‑efficient wiring
  • SMB Smart Mounting Bracket included — ±90° aiming; pairs with S112i PRO for full‑range performance

Feature 1
Horizontally, the IC 38X offers a wide 120‑degree dispersion, while vertically it delivers an ultra‑narrow 30 degrees. This directs acoustic energy straight to the audience, achieving significantly better audibility in very challenging rooms.
Feature 2
The IC 38X’s enclosure is made from solid die‑cast aluminium for maximum stability and a long service life. Aluminium has also enabled us to create elegant forms and a design that integrates easily into a wide variety of environments. All IC‑Line loudspeakers are available in black and white.
Feature 3
All IC‑Line column loudspeakers are equipped with Phoenix MSTB 4‑pole input and link connectors for fast, straightforward wiring. In addition, the units feature a built‑in two‑way switch that allows the user to select between two signal channels. Using 4‑core cabling offers key advantages: cost savings, cleaner aesthetics, and quicker installation times. Our IA 202D and IA 402D power amplifiers provide two‑channel outputs to keep installation simple and hassle‑free.

The IC 38X is a true lightweight for its reach. Equipped with eight 3.5″ neodymium drivers—two of which form a coaxial system with 0.5″ compression drivers—it weighs only 7.2 kg, yet delivers an impressive 134 dB max SPL when required, with 400 W RMS power handling. Its low weight allows flexible, hassle‑free mounting on trusses, ceilings, or walls. This means it can be deployed alongside large video screens or in architecturally sensitive areas, ensuring uncompromising speech intelligibility. Especially in combination with the S112i PRO subwoofer, the IC 38X produces a pleasantly rounded sonic image. The IC 38X uses Phoenix MSTB 4‑pole input and link terminals for quick, straightforward wiring. Despite its light weight, the IC 38X is exceptionally durable thanks to its rugged die‑cast aluminium enclosure, ensuring a long service life. The material choice also supports the speaker’s elegant, discreet, and timeless design, available in white and black.
SMB (included) – Simple, flexible mountingFor straightforward, time‑saving installation and maximum aiming flexibility, the SMB – Smart Mounting Bracket – was developed as an intelligent wall mount. With this bracket, the loudspeakers can be installed almost anywhere and quickly aligned at the ideal angle to optimise directivity. Designed in Germany, the SMB is included with every I‑Line loudspeaker and has been specially conceived for our column speakers. A column loudspeaker mounted with the SMB can be adjusted on both axes by up to ±90° in 10° steps. The SMB has a maximum load capacity of 10 kg and is supplied with a 20 cm steel safety cable in accordance with international standards.
