A Musical Highlight: Kotten Klub Bigband Impresses at COBRA Communications Centre
Solingen, 16.05.2024: At the end of January 2024, the KottenKlub Bigband delivered an outstanding concert at the COBRA communications centre in Solingen. The versatile instrumental lineup of the big band was complemented by three exceptional vocalists, making the evening a truly special experience. Thanks to the new PA system from SE AUDIOTECHNIK, the concert was also executed at the highest sound quality.
The COBRA has made a significant leap in quality with the new system. The large hall, which often posed challenging acoustic conditions due to its square shape, now showed its best side. Reinhard Finke, producer, musician, and sound engineer from VALVE Records Studios in Solingen, describes the improvements: “I have experienced this location over the years with various sound systems and am now pleased to see that the notorious sound variations—depending on where you are in the hall—are much less noticeable.”
The intelligibility and clarity of the vocal performances have particularly improved. “Even with the broad sound spectrum of a large big band, you can comfortably position a soloist in the mix,” Finke continues. This improvement is a significant benefit for COBRA and its visitors, who can now enjoy an even more immersive sound experience.
Although the nearfield speakers also available were not used that evening, Finke is confident that they would perfectly round off the installation. Overall, the new PA system delivered an impressive performance and allowed the musical quality of the KottenKlub Bigband to shine through.
Reinhard Finke sums up his impressions: “The new system has brought COBRA a good step forward.” With this positive development, future concerts at the communications centre promise to shine with new acoustic brilliance thanks to the technical upgrades.
