In the prestigious setting of Borgo di Fossanova, a magical evening unfolded on July 21, 2024, filled with the enchanting melodies of “Melodie Angeliche” performed by the Angeli Musicanti, the musical band of the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps, under the direction of Maestro Stefano Iannilli. This event was organized to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the death of Saint Thomas Aquinas. Borgo di Fossanova, a former monastery and now a Franciscan convent, is located in the municipality of Priverno in the Italian region of Lazio.
An evening dedicated to lyrical music featured the extraordinary participation of soprano Anna Kazlova and tenor Vasco Maria Vagnoli, right in front of the abbey, where, according to tradition, the patron saint of universities and Catholic study centers passed away 750 years ago.
The concert, which captivated approximately 800 attendees, including several prominent political figures, was flawlessly organized thanks to the expertise of Palmiero, a long-standing reference point for live events in the Latina area, especially with musical bands and institutions.
An established company for years, Palmiero was founded from the intuition of Giuseppe Palmiero, who passed on his experience and passion to his sons, Antonio and Lorenzo Palmiero, now owners of the Latina service company.
“Many recognize us because over the years we have worked extensively with the bands of the Police, Carabinieri, and Air Force. In September, we will have an event with the Guardia di Finanza,” remarked Lorenzo Palmiero.
The impressive compositions of the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps’ musical band, appreciated worldwide, were performed in a 20×50 meter area with a complete SE AUDIOTECHNIK sound system, described by the owner of the service company as follows:
“The SE system was truly impressive, enhancing the voices of the sopranos and tenors on stage.”
Specifically, two main line arrays, consisting of six M-F3A PRO modules each and four B18A subwoofers, along with two M-F3A PRO modules positioned as front-fills, provided a uniform sound experience for the 500 seated and approximately 300 standing attendees in the square.
The M-F3A PRO is an ultra-compact active hybrid 2-way line array module that delivers crystal-clear sound reproduction with studio-quality mids and highs thanks to its hornless design.
The exclusive PA system is achieved by integrating eight high-efficiency 2.8″ neodymium midrange drivers and seven 1″ direct-radiating dome tweeters. These drivers are designed to ensure high efficiency and extended LF bandwidth, allowing a mid-low crossover frequency that provides voices with exceptionally rich and natural sound. The B 18A is an 18″ active subwoofer with a sophisticated adaptive port that optimizes airflow and improves response. This technology, developed through extensive research, allows for a lower crossover frequency while maintaining a smaller volume. This results in deeper and more dynamic bass with a compact cabinet.
Lorenzo Palmiero commented on the power of the SE audio system: “We almost didn’t need to put front-fills in the front rows; we added them for completeness. Even from the first to the last row, the sound was coherent, with the same quality and sound pressure.”
The event once again confirmed the excellence of the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps’ musical band and the unparalleled quality of SE AUDIOTECHNIK audio systems. Thanks to the perfect organization and the expertise of the Palmiero team, the evening was a tremendous success, offering the audience an unforgettable musical experience.
This concert will remain etched in the memory of all attendees as a magical moment of celebration and artistic beauty, testifying to the deep bond between tradition and innovation in the musical field.
